Chibi Vampire 1

Turns the book over. . .

Karin is a cute little girl who also happens to be a vampire...with a twist. Once a month, she experiences intense bleeding from her nose - we're talking gushers! In other words, she is a vamp with blood to spare, so rather then stealing blood from humans, she actually gives her blood to them. If done right, this can be an extremely positive experience that benefits the "victim" as much as the vamp. The problem is that Karin never seems to do things right!

~Hatchi's Thoughts~ This review can possibly contain spoilers but I will try my best to not give too much away.

First off this book is in manga style.Yes that means you read it backwards, in Japanese right to left format, and yes that means it is in comic strip format as well. I personally love Japanese anime and Chibi Vampire was my first manga series.

We first meet Karin in her bedroom on her bed waking up. She realizes her heart is beating like a jack hammer. She knows full well what her heart beat means, her blood is increasing, yet this time it effects her in an unusual way.

In this tale of vampires we find that each Vamp has a preference in the blood they drink. We aren't talking type O or AB neg, we are talking about what emotion the blood donor is giving off right that moment. For example Karin's mother craves the taste of liers. Isn't that a thought. . . someone lies to you and instead of being upset you just drink their blood. Karin has found out what her preference is and now finds herself having to fight the urge not to nibble her friends who have no idea what she truly is or how they give off her favorite taste of emotion sometimes.

My favorite person in this series is Anju. She is Karin's little sister who has not quite yet come into her full vampire powers. She also doesn't have to drink blood . . .yet. She is my favorite for she is cool, calm and confident of herself. I see myself in her because she helps her big sister out a lot like I do with my big brother. She also has a really cool doll she carries named Boogie, who talks and is a smart mouth like myself.

These books are a pretty quick to read so if you are like myself and find you are going to want to own the whole series, 14 books as of Oct, you are going to be spending a lot of allowance but it is worth it. I recommend asking your folks to help you look at used book sites or stores.

This series has a lot of funny moments that will make you laugh, a good story line and even a little romance. Something for every tween out there.

So are you getting a nose bleed yet? Are you answering. . .

Catching up

Hello my fellow readers it's Christi. I wanted to take a break and fill you in on what I am reading and to tell you the where abouts of Hatchi. I know you all have wondered where she has been.

First the where abouts of Hatchi. She is shy and hiding. This whole blog thing is new to her as well as having her thoughts being on the triple W. She came to me today and told me how she is just so scared to mess up. So with that being said and the possibility that this may be my last post for telling you this info, I am going to help her get over her fear and hopefully we will be seeing a post with the disclamer ~Hatchi's thoughts~.

Now for what I am currently reading and that is Noah by Jacquelyn Frank, the last book in The Nightwalkers series. Yes I already have a new series lined up, ready and waiting on my bookself to start the second I am done. What my next written main course is I am keeping a secret from you but what I will let you know is what I will be reviewing now that the Darkness Chosen reviews are done, The Lords of the Underworld series by Gena Showalter. Awesome series with it's story wrapped around Pandora's box. Lots of yumminess and all the older ladies know what I mean by yumminess * grin *. It also ... well I guess you will just have to wait for me to post the reviews to find out what it also has.

For now it is Friday night and I am about to curl up and watch a movie with the family. I hope all is well with each of you and that you have a wonderful weekend.

In light and love,
Christi

** Update** movie was a no go for Hatchi wanted to work together on her first review!! *Cheers*

Brutally handsome cop Doug Black is determined to find the birth family who left him with nothing but a terrifying inheritance: the ability to change into a savage golden cougar. ~Christi's thoughts ~ This review has the possibility to contain SPOILERS! As with every review I will try my best to NOT give TOO much away.

So is everyone ready for the final instalment of the darkness chosen series? Like I said in the begining this was the first book I read and the one that got me hooked on the series.

Firebird, one of the signs the pack with the devil was becoming weak. Why you ask? She is the daughter of Konstintine, the man who is to only have sons as per the deal with the devil. Our story starts a few years earlier then where Into the Shadows left off. Firebird is in college, has a wonderful boy friend who adores her, her finals are finally over but best of all Firebird has wonderful news she can't seem to find words for but is sending the proof home in the card she is sending for father's day. Life is just about perfect for Firebird till she is walking home alone from a party and feels she is being followed. Luckily she makes it into her dorm building and sneaks into her room leaving the lights off so she can go to her window to watch out and see if her stalker shows itself. Her instints were right but to her dismay the thing following her is a beautiful golden cougar. To her horror the cougar started to change before her eyes into a human male but not just any male , the cougar was her boyfriend Doug. Firebird is floored that the man she loves has turned out to be a Varinski. She feels totally stupid and hates how she was played for a fool.

We are now transported to present day and the moment when Firebird comes home to find her long lost brother in the house along with a woman she has no clue about. But her mind can't be bothered with it. She scoops her son up and uses the wall to slide to the floor with him in her arms. Her heart breaking at the news she is carrying. She has ben given blood proof that she is in no way the daughter of Konstantine and Zorana Wilder. Firebird's news sends the house into shock no one knowing how this can even be true , Zorana retells the story of Friebirds birth.

As firebird takes off to find Alex's daddy, Zorana and her sons head to the house of the midwife that was present when Firebird was born to question her and find out what truely happened that faitful night. they get the truth but it is not good news. Zorana's son is most likely dead.

Firebird found Doug's house and made herself at hoem waiting for him to return. Their exchange is one of shock for Friebird drops the fact he is the father of her son like a rock. After Doug getting a page from work that stops all foward motion between them Firebird's intentions were to leave but she recieves a phone call that makes her stay. Doug and Firebird play cat and mouse at dinner feelings from the past still fresh and blazing. Doug finally fills her in on his childhood and it matches what Zorana and her sons know. Doug has a few secrets of his own and you are never really sure what he is going to do. The only thing you are sure of is that he is Alex's father and he is Konstantine's son.

The ending of this epic tale is action packed so grab your cup of refreshment and get settled. I am leaving it to you to find out if the Devil wins or if Love and Good break the pact made long ago. I give kudos to Christina and thank her for a wonderful series that had me chomping at the bit for more. I lost many hours of sleep reading this series it sucked me in so entirely. So what are you waiting for. . .

Turns the book over . . .

For the ability to transform into a heartless predator, a brutal warrior promised his soul-and the souls of his descendents-to the devil. Now, one thousand years later, the Wilder brothers battle the darkness inside them. Blessed-or cursed-with the ability to change into a sleek, cruel panther, and driven by a dark soul he's accepted as his fate, powerful Adrik Wilder abandons his family and his honor to pursue a life of wickedness. He excels at every vice, kidnapping strong-willed Karen Sonnet and forcing her to welcome the helpless pleasure only he can give her. But Karen's spirit and passion make him question the force of his family's curse, for she could be the key to their survival. And when a new evil emerges, Adrik must choose whether to enact revenge on his enemies and redeem his soul or save Karen from a fate worse than death.

~Christi's thoughts ~ This review has the possibility to contain SPOILERS! As with every review I will try my best to NOT give TOO much away.

So this review is going to be harsh for me. This book I loved and hated all at the same time. Parts of it made me so twisted inside for I didn't understand why it was being written the way it was. In the end I saw the reasons and was very glad I read it.I do want you to know this book touches on the lifestyle of Dominate, slave/submissive so now you can be on the understanding that some parts of this book are intense.

The Story of Adrik starts with the introduction of Karen. She is the strong, independent daughter of an adventure hotel tycoon. She currently finds herself trying to tame Mount Anya high up in the Himalayas. A moutain known to most as the Heart of Evil. Little did she know that when all was quiet in the world and the moon was high in the sky this mountain was going to bring her a lover she would do anything to save in the end.

After blasting the side of the mountain and making a promise to the ghost of a small child Karen finds herself being saved and swept away by a handsome man on a motorcycle. Karen is quickly shown she may know this mans body but she is very much in the dark as to what makes him purr, for in fact this man has a dark secret and that sercret gives him the ability to transform into a sleek panther.

Adrik is known by his people as the Warlord and Karen finds herself his captive in more ways then one, she is now wearing bracelets that send a message to all that she belongs to him and is his to comand. His world and hold on Karen is short lived when the armies of the bordering towns he has been raiding hire men of their own to hunt down the ones responsible. Adrik lets Karen go to save her from the assult on his compound but leaves her with one thought, " Somehow, Someday I will come for you. Watch for me".

I was so torn on how Christina made Adrik go from tender lover in the dark to this Dom in a tent. I know that he has face to save in front of his men and an inner demon of his own he has turned his self over to, but in his tent where he held her alone why make him into a man who wants to dominate her? Ok so maybe him dominating her isn't exactly what I was miffed about. Dominance in a man for me is always a good thing. Ugh I want to say so much more but I do not want to give away to much. Adrik does keep his promise to Karen, somehow, someway he finds her. Little does Adrik know but Karen is no longer the same woman she had been in the Himalayas and much to Karen's surprise the Warlord she knew is no longer the total man she sees now, but he is still as much a leader and in control of his charges as he was in the Himalayas.

This instalment is going to suck you into the desire to see how the fourth book plays out. How will what is revealed in the last moments of this book effect the prophecy. This book was one of action and what will happen next. It may have gone in directions I wasn't so sure of but that didn't stop me devouring each and every printed word. I hope you bring your appitite when you answer the question. . .

Darkness Chosen book Two

Title - Touch of Darkness

Turns the book Over . . .

A thousand years ago, a brutal warrior struck a terrifying bargain. In return for the ability to change at will into a cold-hearted predator, he promised his soul, and the souls of his descendants, to the devil.
Handsome, powerful Rurik Wilder battles darkness — the darkness without, and the darkness within. For he possesses the power to transform himself into a fierce bird of prey, and that gift has caused death and destruction. At last he is offered the chance to redeem himself and break the evil pact which has held his family in thrall for centuries. Only one woman stands in his way — flamboyant Tasya Hunnicutt, a writer determined to wreak revenge on the assassins who murdered her family. Assassins, it’s been rumored, who have powers no human should ever possess...

~Christi's thoughts ~ This review has the possibility to contain SPOILERS! As with every review I will try my best to NOT give TOO much away.

Rurik, the second son of Konstantine, is on a treasure hunt. This is a treasure unlike any other for this treasure holds answers to questions about his families history and hopefully provides the most valuable treasure of all, the one that will help him break the pact with the devil. The only way to find this treasure is for Rurik to have an Archaeological dig. One that has the attention of Tasya, for reasons unknown to Rurik, and anyone who has an interest in finds of the magnitude.

After a little visit from the Varinski's ,where they cause the whole dig site to collapse and leave Rurik and Tasya for dead, the two start off on an adventure to try and get home to Rurik's mother and father for help against their enemy. All the while Tasya is holding one of the pieces to the relic and the end of the curse.

Rurik and Tasya's story is one of many trials. Both facing their pasts and coming to grips with them. All the while being chased by Rurik's cousins.

I enjoyed Touch of Darkness. The stories for each of the characters sucked me in. I was on the edge of my seat wanting to get the details on Rurik's reason for being so afraid to fly when his whole body was a flying machine. Reading how Tasya comes around to letting Rurik into her heart and seeing that you can not judge someone as a whole but as an individual. Yes there are some very interesting love scenes and Christina does not go the boring route but tells of how couples can worship and explore each other. The action is also in abundance and does not disappoint in the least.

So have you answered yourself yet?

I loved the legend Christina wrapped this series around. Here is the legend or history of Konstantine Varinski ....

A thousand years ago, Konstantine Varinski, a magnificent warrior of savage cruelty, roamed the Russian steppes. Driven by his craving for power, he struck a terrible bargain. In return for the ability to change from a magnificent warrior into a predator that could hunt down his enemies wherever they hid, he promised his soul — and the souls of his descendants — to the devil. To Konstantine Varinski and to each Varinski since, the devil bequeathed long life and good health. They could not be killed in battle except by another demon. Because of their battle prowess, their endurance and decisiveness, they become rich, respected and feared. Through czars, Bolsheviks and even presidents, they retained their warrior compound, went where they were paid to go, and with flawless ferocity, crushed uprisings and demanded obedience. They called themselves THE DARKNESS. They could breed only sons, a matter of much exultation to them. With each child, they hailed the birth of a new demon, and raised the child to be a ruthless warrior worthy of the name Varinski.
For no Varinski ever falls in love … until one did.
No Varinski ever married … until one did.
No Varinski ever fled the compound and their way of life … until one did.
For the first time, cracks appeared in the solid foundation of the deal with the devil.
Heaven took note.
So did Hell.

This series was an odd one for me for I goofed and read the last book first. I have no idea how I did it for I checked on the order not once but a few times when I was looking for and purchasing the series. Once I had finished the book and went to the next and got through a chapter I was saying to myself "ummmm why does this seem like they are telling me the past?". So the Darkness Chosen books one through three were now a history lesson for me. It actually was a cool way to read the series, But I am going to give you the reviews in their intended order.

Jasha, the oldest of Konstantine's sons is everything a woman wants. . .he owns his own wine making company, he is smart, he is wealthy, he is handsome, he is assertive, and one little thing more. . . he is a wolf. . . oh my my my.

When sweet, shy, always dedicated to her job Ann is given the task of rushing a fast approaching deadline to Jasha she sees it as her chance to finally show her boss what is right in front his face. . . HER. What she didn't expect was for her to find out what has truely been in front of her face all this time. . . his wolf. She runs when she sees a wolf transform into her boss and Jasha acts on instinct and chases her into the woods. Instantly she finds out just what happens when you run from the big bad wolf.

Jasha and Ann are quickly shown that their attraction is equally felt and how destiny has a plan all it's own. While on the run through the deep woods Ann gets to learn that she now holds a piece of the relic and most of all Jasha's heart. Can she love a man who changes into a wolf? Is she strong enough to stand beside Jasha and fight the Varinski's so they can reach his mother and father to tell them of Ann's find?

Even though a lot of this book takes place in the woods you will find love doesn't care it will happen no matter what or where we are. The love sceens in this book are hot and some of them will make your toes curl and your breath to catch but they don't own the book. There is a lot of actual plot line and Christina fits the love story very nicely into the history she has built around Konstantine.

I really enjoyed this book. I most of all enjoyed the plot line. A very nice tale of the age old story of good verses evil. I hope you go out and get this book and hopefully the whole series for i really feel you will answer yes when you ask yourself.

The House of Night Series book five Marked

Turns the book over.....

What if the hottest guy in the world was holding a nameless evil and all he wanted was you? A shape materialized at the edge of the medow, just inside the shadows of the trees. I could see his body because the moonlight caught the smooth , chiseled lines of his skin. I stopped cold. Something about this dream didn't seem right. " You hesitate, my love? " At the sound of Kalona's voice, a shiver passed through my body and terrible mocking laughter whispered through the leaves of the trees.

Inside the Jacket....

At the start of this heart- pounding new installment in the bestselling House of Night series, Zoey's friends have her back again and Stevie Rae and the red fledglings aren't Neferet's secrets any longer. But an unexpected danger has emerged. Neferet guards her powerful new consort, Kalona, and no one at the House of Night seems to understand the threat he poses. Kalona is gorgeous, and he has the House of Night under his spell. A past life holds the key to breaking his rapidly spreading influence, but what if this past life unearth secrets Zoey doesn't want to see and truths she can't face.

On the run and holed up in Tulsa's Prohibition-era tunnels. Zoey and her gang must dicover a way to deal with something that might bring them all down. Meanwhile , Zoey has a few other problems. The red fledglings have have cleaned up well - they've even managed to make the dark , creepy tunnels feel more like home - but are they really as friendly as they seem? On the boyfriend front, Zoey has a chance to make things right with super-hot ex, Eric, but she can't stop thinking about Stark, the archer who died in her arms one unforgettable night, and she is driven to try to save him from neferet's sinister influence at all costs. Will anyone believe the power evil has to hide him among us?

~Christi's thoughts ~ This review has the possibility to contain SPOILERS! As with every review I will try my best to NOT give TOO much away.

Well the back and inside of the jacket of the hard cover book really fills you in on what this book is about. There of course is more of the Heath, Erik and now Stark hawtness. It is just so hard to choose who to root for in that lil tirangle. I personally wanna root for Heath because he has loved her from moment one, from human to vamp he stills sees the Zoey that has always been there. I am such a vote for the under dog person. Just ask my hubby when we watch football. *laughs*

Zoey has so much to take in this time around. Her gifts, Neferet and now Kalona, who is becomming the wet dream Zoey does not need to have. But sometimes our dreams allow us to learn things or see things we would normally miss in our awaken state.

The ending I can not say much on for I do not want to give too much away. I did feel though it lacked something or just wasn't as strong as it should have been. Of course that is for you to find out for yourself when you decide......

Turns the book over ....

Life sucks when your friends are pissed at you.Just ask Zoey Redbird - she has become an expert on suckiness. In one week she has gone from having three boyfriends to having none, and from having a close group of friends who trusted and supported her to being an outcast. Speaking of friends, of the two Zoey has left, one is undead and on eis unmarked. And Neferet has declared war on humans, which Zoey knows in her heart is wrong. But will anyone listen to her? Zoey's adventures at vampyre finishing school take a wild turn as loyalties are tested, shocking true intentions come to light, and an ancient evil is awakened in P.C and Kristen Cast's spellbnding fourth House of Night novel.

~Christi's thoughts ~ This review has the possibility to contain SPOILERS! As with every review I will try my best to NOT give TOO much away.

Book four starts with a bang... a bang to the ego. Zoey finds herself talking to the only thing that will listen to her at the moment a horse. She has lost her virginity to a jerk who was under orders, she has friends who are pissed at her and she has lost the two men who were fighting for her attention. Life Sucks for Zoey.

Then a new kid walks into the House of Night and with a dog of all things.... Stark, a young man who has been gifted with the ability to never miss his target. He is most certainly off to a good start and the twins along with most of the girls at tHoN notice how hawt he is. Aphrodite on the other hand recalls him in a different mannor and is none to happy about it.

Zoey and the Dark Daughters start working with the Street Cats, a local rescue, to help human/vampyre relations. To Zoey's surprise the orginization is ran by a nun. Zoey is surprised at how the nun doesn't flip when she is told who and what they are.

With the help of Zoey's grandma Zoey is able to find out what it might be that Neferet is up to. Kalona, an angel and the father of the Raven Mockers. An entity so awful that it was tricked and now firmly held deep within the Earth. With the news that Zoey announces at the Dark Daughters ritual all that Neferet has been up to is finally revieled and everything changes for Zoey and her group of friends.

Untamed made me hungry for the fifth novel so much so I went and bought the hard cover not being able to wait for the paperback like I had originally planned. The ending is a cliffhanger of sorts so you might want to have Marked handy to dive into.

Turns the book over.......

Bloodlust and dark forces are at work at the house of night, and fledgling vampyre Zoey Redbird's adventures at the school take a mysterious turn. Those who appear to be friends are turning out too be enemies, and, oddly enough, sworn enemies are also turning into friends. So begins the gripping third installment of this " highly addictive series" (romantic times Bookreviews), in which Zoey's mettle will be tested liek never before. Her best friend , Stevie Ray, is undead and struggling to maintain a grip on her humanity. Zoey doesn't have a clue how to help her, but she does know that anything she and Stevie Ray discover must be kept secret from everyone else at the House of Night, where trust has become a rare commodity. Speaking of rare Zoey finds herself in a very rare position of having three boyfriends, a situation with the potential to spell social disaster. Then vampyres start turning up dead. Really dead. But as Zoey and her friends find out, things are not always what they seem.

~Christi's thoughts ~ This review has the possibility to contain SPOILERS! As with every review I will try my best to NOT give TOO much away.

I loved how this book opened.... and I do mean LOVED. I have sorta the same issue as Zoey when it comes to my birthday. Mine isnt in the month of Dec. but it is in Jan. and people always gave me either Christmas themed gifts or said the ole this is your Christmas and bday gift... Grrrrr! So when Zoey opens the third book by saying " yep, I seriously have a sucky birthday " I wanted to go through printed page and hug her.

This book has you seeing how Zoey trys to see the good in everything even when the bad is so straight in her face she should be blinded by it. Some things you can bring the good from even if it is just a small glimmer hidden in the darkest corner. Then some things bite your out reached hand so hard you are left with a scar to remind you of your lesson.

The love triangle gets even stronger in this installment. Loren really lays on the charm and makes himself at home with Zoey. Erik is not a blind vamp but is very hard headed one and shows this all too well this time around. Heath is as always Heath, he will forever have Zoey on the brain it seems and maybe Zoey has a little case of Heath on the brain as well.....might not be the worst possible thing to have.

With Stevie Rae not being able to partake in the Dark Daughters rituals , Nyx has gifted Aphodite with the element Earth to ALL of Zoey's friends dismay. Aphodite's visions have become stronger in she isn't just seeing them but she is feeling them now. She is able to help fill in some of the blanks concerning Stevie Rae's condition. She seems to have become a vamp you find in books, hates the sun and needs to feed. Zoey's determined to help Stevie Rae find the common ground of her new form and stop living like a monster.

I can't fill you in on the last part of this book for it is filled to the brim with so many jaw dropping surprises and twists. I do not want to take away any of the jaw dropping, heart pounding moments. BUT take this with you on your journey ... keep reading till the end and then pick up book four.... you will not be sorry you did.

With that last sentence I guess I told you the answer huh.....

Fledgling vampyre Zoey Redbird has managed to settle in at the House of Night finishing school. She finally feels like she belongs, even gets chosen as the Leader of the Dark Daughters. Best of all, she actually has a boyfriend....or two. Then the unthinkable happens: human teenagers are being killed and all the evidence points to the House of Night. Betrayed , the second in the House of Night series, is dark and sexy, and as thrilling as ity is utterly shocking.

~Christi's thoughts ~ This review has the possibility to contain SPOILERS! As with every review I will try my best to NOT give TOO much away.

For the second book in this series, I was pretty happy with it. It gave some new insight into Zoey and how strong of a person she is having to be in her new journey of being a vampyre.

First thing you get to wrap your brain around is how Zoey is having to trust her gut and keep those she felt were enemies closer then she might have wanted to. Even when all her close friends fight her on it tooth and nail.

It is bad enough Zoey is having her heart being tugged by two men, her ex Heath and the school hunk Erik. Now she finds she is intrigued by the new teach in school as well. The start of a love triangle? It won't soon be forgetten.

This book goes into the gifts Nyx has given the kids of The House of Night and just how strongly they have been gifted. It is really nice to see a pagan religion in this light. Thanks again girls. The Council gets to see thier ideas put into motion with the Dark Daughters as well.

Onto top of all her new responsibilities, Zoey finds herself trying to find out why her old school mates are disapearing and how she is caught up in it all.

All in all it is a good book and leaves you ready and waiting to start the next in the series. I say you DO want to read this book.

I shall open my first review with the blanket statement.... I really liked this book. Now if you are happy with that go buy, check out or borrow this book and get to reading. If not continue on to know why I liked it so much.

First off I run my household on the we can think for ourselves so we do not judge another and feel we have to change them idea, so when right off the bat this book showed a young girl being Marked not being given the chance to decide if she wanted this as her life or not, then her step-loser saying " get thee behind me Satan!" I knew this book was going to be good. I loved the diversity of the characters. White, black , gay, straight and best of all cowgirl. Yes it is true, even if WE aren't the wrangler, boots and hat family, they Do REALLY exisit here in Okieland and it was really cool to see that character in this book. Like I said WE aren't into the whole REAL cowboy/girl lifestyle we are city folk *laughs* BUT one thing that holds true to ALL Okies is the heart that the Cast's filled Stevie Ray with.
Someone I would add to my adopted family. The be there through thick and thin, rain or shine friend.

This series is for the Tween reader but can be enjoyed by adults. I say tween but if you are a parent reading this review know there is sexual content in this series and I would not recomend it to anyone who has not had THE TALK with someone. Now it is not over the top discription but it is the plain fact of sex discription. *spoiler* Someone walks up and catches someones in the act of oral... no overly details of the act just the details of how this person felt walking in on it. * end spoiler* In this day and age and having two teens myself, I know they learn a heck of a lot more a heck of a lot sooner then even I did just 17 years ago.

The Cast's did their homework and really added the details to the religion that is used in this series. Kudos girls you made me proud. So nice to see some of the faith side ( respect and pride ) and not just the magick.

The story line is a nice twist on vampyres, This is more a here is a different type of person and your chance to learn and understand them, watch them grow and change even the things that have been the same for eons. One of the things I wish was found more in real life and not just in books. Some of these people you start to really care about and others you wanna slap the snob right out of. Yes this is a high school themed time frame and of course you have the typical HS types... such as: preps, normals, nerds, geeks and those who use their looks for gain. The struggle Zoey is having to take in that she will BE a vamp IF she makes it through the Change, having to deal with the dramas high school has to offer, seeing gifts being used and abused in a social group of the school (Dark Daughters) ,not to mention being personally gifted by the Goddess and having to deal with a mentor who seems to have a hidden agenda of her own and maybe a hint of jealousy to boot, is a lot for one to handle but Zoey's new found friends help her out along the way.

If you are from Oklahoma or know the area you are going to enjoy the familiarity of the locations in this book. Me, well I grew up part time in the mentioned areas so ya I knew all of them very well. No I did not go looking for the House of night there... but wouldn't that be cool to find!!

So there it is my thoughts on Marked. Just a small note here.... the format they are written may change as Beth and I grow and learn how to GIVE a review. But for now I hope this helps you decide......

Do I wanna read this?

Welcome to our minds

Hello my name is Christi Aka "Mom". My daughter's name is Beth but she will post under the name Hatchi. I know I know why don't they just go by the names we gave them at birth but she is a spirit all her own and so she has named herself.

I thought for our first post I would introduce us and give a little background to this little project. I am a house wife and mother of three. We are a home schooling household as well. To me that last point means the most for my children have manors and thoughts that are their own and their life is not rushed.

We live in Oklahoma and really are just a normal family. * giggles.... snorts * .... * tryies to breath * ... we are so NOT what most call normal. We are in some ways and then in others we dance to our own tune. We love music, movies, books... we love to camp, be with friends and cook out. We are also HUGE gamers... the meaning usually refers to online players but we also attach the board and card varieties to it as well. We are a family unit and we extend that net to include our friends who we call "adopted" family members and as with all families sometimes those "adopted" ones are closer to you then the blood ones.

So now onto our little porject......

We hate the heat. Don't get me wrong we like being outdoors in the summer but not when you can fry an egg on the sidewalk. Why did I just tell you that? Oh it was to make us hiding in the cool house a little less lazy sounding. We actually started reading more then noraml amounts last summer but it was this summer that we noticed it had really become a huge addiction. When I noticed Beth's allowance was being spent on stacks of books and I was not buying new shoes for myself but books instead.... Yup we had a new addiction in the house and it was READING *Gasp*. Now I have to say it isn't a bad one to have, but one that had to be taken control of. She and I have had to watch out for each other with this addiction. Make sure we were sleeping atleast some of the night and not snuggled in bed lit by a soft LED spotlight. Yes we have both looked up and said "wow the sun already?".

A few days ago I was looking for a new series for me to read that was a little more adult and less tween. Yes for the most part this Blog will be made of reviews from her and I but SOME will be on books that I have on the not for Beth shelf. One day in the all too near future she will be free to go back in the archives and add her review to what I have written on one of these books but not untill she is of an age I feel she can handle the content. Ooooo if you couldn't feel the mommy voice in that then you need to call your mom more. * laughs*
Where was I? Oh the book search. I was looking way too intently at my computer screen and she came up behind me and asked what I was looken for. When I told her that I was trying to google find a "GOOD" review site to help me find something I wanted to sink my mind into and that I just wasn't finding one. I sometimes found some help with the buyers comments on sites but they still were to me blanket statements, " i loved this book" and " a must read". BAH! That was when we talked about what we wanted in a review and how we should just make our own. We shrugged and I went back to my seach.

Until this morning. My hubbies 37th bday in fact. I woke up from a dream where I saw the title of our Blog and how it would work.

That's it. Here we are, me writting what you are reading. The first of many enteries in this Journey of infinite words. One Mother, One Daughter and You.
