Turns the book over . . .

For the ability to transform into a heartless predator, a brutal warrior promised his soul-and the souls of his descendents-to the devil. Now, one thousand years later, the Wilder brothers battle the darkness inside them. Blessed-or cursed-with the ability to change into a sleek, cruel panther, and driven by a dark soul he's accepted as his fate, powerful Adrik Wilder abandons his family and his honor to pursue a life of wickedness. He excels at every vice, kidnapping strong-willed Karen Sonnet and forcing her to welcome the helpless pleasure only he can give her. But Karen's spirit and passion make him question the force of his family's curse, for she could be the key to their survival. And when a new evil emerges, Adrik must choose whether to enact revenge on his enemies and redeem his soul or save Karen from a fate worse than death.

~Christi's thoughts ~ This review has the possibility to contain SPOILERS! As with every review I will try my best to NOT give TOO much away.

So this review is going to be harsh for me. This book I loved and hated all at the same time. Parts of it made me so twisted inside for I didn't understand why it was being written the way it was. In the end I saw the reasons and was very glad I read it.I do want you to know this book touches on the lifestyle of Dominate, slave/submissive so now you can be on the understanding that some parts of this book are intense.

The Story of Adrik starts with the introduction of Karen. She is the strong, independent daughter of an adventure hotel tycoon. She currently finds herself trying to tame Mount Anya high up in the Himalayas. A moutain known to most as the Heart of Evil. Little did she know that when all was quiet in the world and the moon was high in the sky this mountain was going to bring her a lover she would do anything to save in the end.

After blasting the side of the mountain and making a promise to the ghost of a small child Karen finds herself being saved and swept away by a handsome man on a motorcycle. Karen is quickly shown she may know this mans body but she is very much in the dark as to what makes him purr, for in fact this man has a dark secret and that sercret gives him the ability to transform into a sleek panther.

Adrik is known by his people as the Warlord and Karen finds herself his captive in more ways then one, she is now wearing bracelets that send a message to all that she belongs to him and is his to comand. His world and hold on Karen is short lived when the armies of the bordering towns he has been raiding hire men of their own to hunt down the ones responsible. Adrik lets Karen go to save her from the assult on his compound but leaves her with one thought, " Somehow, Someday I will come for you. Watch for me".

I was so torn on how Christina made Adrik go from tender lover in the dark to this Dom in a tent. I know that he has face to save in front of his men and an inner demon of his own he has turned his self over to, but in his tent where he held her alone why make him into a man who wants to dominate her? Ok so maybe him dominating her isn't exactly what I was miffed about. Dominance in a man for me is always a good thing. Ugh I want to say so much more but I do not want to give away to much. Adrik does keep his promise to Karen, somehow, someway he finds her. Little does Adrik know but Karen is no longer the same woman she had been in the Himalayas and much to Karen's surprise the Warlord she knew is no longer the total man she sees now, but he is still as much a leader and in control of his charges as he was in the Himalayas.

This instalment is going to suck you into the desire to see how the fourth book plays out. How will what is revealed in the last moments of this book effect the prophecy. This book was one of action and what will happen next. It may have gone in directions I wasn't so sure of but that didn't stop me devouring each and every printed word. I hope you bring your appitite when you answer the question. . .

Do I wanna read this?
