Turns the book over.......

Fledgling vampyre Zoey Redbird has managed to settle in at the House of Night finishing school. She finally feels like she belongs, even gets chosen as the Leader of the Dark Daughters. Best of all, she actually has a boyfriend....or two. Then the unthinkable happens: human teenagers are being killed and all the evidence points to the House of Night. While danger stalks the humans from Zoey's old life, she begins to relaize that the very powers that make her so unique might also threaten those she loves. then, when she needs her new friends the most, death strikes the House of Night, and Zoey must find the courage to face a betrayal that could break her heart, her soul and jeopardize the very fabric of her world. Betrayed , the second in the House of Night series, is dark and sexy, and as thrilling as ity is utterly shocking.

~Christi's thoughts ~ This review has the possibility to contain SPOILERS! As with every review I will try my best to NOT give TOO much away.

For the second book in this series, I was pretty happy with it. It gave some new insight into Zoey and how strong of a person she is having to be in her new journey of being a vampyre.

First thing you get to wrap your brain around is how Zoey is having to trust her gut and keep those she felt were enemies closer then she might have wanted to. Even when all her close friends fight her on it tooth and nail.

It is bad enough Zoey is having her heart being tugged by two men, her ex Heath and the school hunk Erik. Now she finds she is intrigued by the new teach in school as well. The start of a love triangle? It won't soon be forgetten.

This book goes into the gifts Nyx has given the kids of The House of Night and just how strongly they have been gifted. It is really nice to see a pagan religion in this light. Thanks again girls. The Council gets to see thier ideas put into motion with the Dark Daughters as well.

Onto top of all her new responsibilities, Zoey finds herself trying to find out why her old school mates are disapearing and how she is caught up in it all.

All in all it is a good book and leaves you ready and waiting to start the next in the series. I say you DO want to read this book.
